Patients with chronic kidney disease that progress to end stage renal disease need renal replacement. Patients that are suitable candidates can receive a kidney transplant. Your nephrologist will monitor you closely before undergoing a kidney transplant. You will need blood typing, tissue typing, and testing of antibody levels. We will evaluate you frequently to ensure optimal care before and after your kidney transplant. We will guide you on how to find a suitable donor for your transplant, your blood will be tested for blood type, genetic markers and antibodies. After your transplant we will advise you about your medications and will follow you in our clinics.
