Edema

Edema

Edema is swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body’s tissues that can be provoked by kidney disease. However, symptoms are not always linked to an underlying disease. If you are experiencing leg pain, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, you are advised to consult a doctor immediately. Your nephrology expert will ask you questions, conduct a full exam, and might order tests to determine why you have edema or swelling.  Medications can remove the excess fluid.
